healthy foods

Nutrition science is the study of nutrients in food, how the body uses nutrients, and the relationship between diet, health, and disease. It’s a multi-faceted field that is rooted in chemistry, biology, and the social sciences, with many areas of specialization. By taking courses in Nutrition or pursuing a Nutrition degree or certificate, you’ll not only gain the knowledge to improve your personal health, but also to make a difference in other people’s lives by using your knowledge of food and nutrition science.

Many professions involve nutrition. Most require a Bachelor’s degree. Some require the Registered Dietitian credential; others require other post-graduate work such as nursing. Some nutritionists pursue a graduate degree for a more specialized field of interest, like research. Depending on your personal interests, we’ll help you get started at ÃÀ¼§ÉçÇø to prepare you for your career goals.

Career Options

Nutrition majors frequently work in health-care facilities, community and public health organizations, academia and research, and the food industry. Nutritionists also work in the health/fitness and sports industry, encompassing weight control clinics, sports medicine clinics, sports teams, health clubs and gyms, corporate fitness and wellness centers, and fitness and nutrition programs in schools.
